making graphics under a deadline was killing me, so I took a break from icontests and have just been fucking around mostly. the "More" MV is the most I've dedicated myself to a single project in a minute, and the first graphics I've actually posted since that last disney20in20 I did. doing them at my own pace helped a lot, and is my current recharge from writing under a deadline, as I've had a few steady commissions lately. (note: I am not complaining even a little bit. I still gotta recharge from it though.) also kinda wanna do "villain" because it's fucking gorgeous, but eh. we'll see.

maybe, maybe I'll get back on the video editing project I've had sitting in my harddrive for like six? eight? months now. idr if I talked about it here before but it's a remake of one I did in college, which was all 480p youtube rips with the station id in the corner and everything, done in windows movie maker. it's set to la vie boheme. with *checks notes* seven different sources. I've fully sourced five, and one has like one more clip to grab. getting the clips is honestly the most frustrating part for me, and I'll have to find something to fill the little instrumental breaks and long notes, but I don't do a lot of fancy effects so it's just cutting them to size and dropping them in the timeline after that. this has been my white whale, my Shitty AMVs of Christmas Past, my greatest shame. I will be exonerated.

everything happens so much

I'm so tired.

Kiddo's school year has just been canceled; they're still sending out work but they've just given up hope of going back to actual school for now. Homeschooling is...going. I think we're finally getting into a groove. I want to start introducing art and music back in once we get a pattern of reading and math down. She's just a very ~~bullheaded~~ strong-willed child, and gets frustrated easily. It's going.

D is currently working in the basement, doing call center work. I'm super glad he can work from home, bc a. he's working 2. he's at home, which is also great bc iii. his anemia has come back with a vengeance. He's taking supplements and stuff but. It's not great. We know what's causing it but it requires actual medical intervention to stop it and well. [gestures at the world in general]

S has been cut down to basically 8 whole hours a week, and we're pretty sure her store is just gonna close soon. Luckily she's already in the unemployment system* but she hasn't heard back since she applied. With the number of applications surging in idk if or when she'll hear anything, and that stimulus check is a joke with how long it's gonna take to roll out.

(*she was briefly furloughed due to a cough that it took a week and a half to prove to them was allergies)

Kiddo's almost out of her long-lasting insulin and without her mom's work we have no chance of getting her on insurance. Unless S gets some real good unemployment we're fucked, financially. All I can do is put out feelers for commissions and I don't usually get much feedback on those, plus no one has money to spend on stuff like custom fanfiction right now.

But I jumped on the Animal Crossing bandwagon, so that's happening. Persona 5 Royal came out. I'm still doing icons bc goddammit, it's fun, I can listen to podcasts while I do it and I (usually) enjoy it.

I'm just real tired.
