you want a resolution, I want a revelation

(I've been listening to Hamilton again.)

So I'm not doing "resolutions" this year. Calling them that makes them feel like obligations and they stress me out and I Don't Like It. So I'm not calling them that, I'm just making a list of some stuff I'd be pretty jazzed to accomplish in 2019.

• Read more romance novels. I've kind of written off the genre thus far? And that's really unfair of me. Gonna try to fix that.
  
• Write more consistently. This doesn't even really count, this is every year and every year I am disappointed with my output. #writerlife
  
• Kind of a corollary to the above, but finish my novel, get it edited, and start querying. I'm so close to finishing it, but I know editing is going to be the real big challenge.
  
• Cosplay for the first time. (I have a wig and contacts, I am Committed.) (This wig needs some work, tho.)
  
• See my friends for the first time in...eight years? Nine? A while. We're spread out all over the country, and we used to meet up at MAGfest, but since Kiddo was born I haven't been able to make the trip (12+ hours, for me). Maybe I can manage something this year, after she starts school finally.
  
• More graphics! My goal is to improve to the point that I look back at everything I did this year and want to remove it out of shame. (I do not do that, on principle.)
  
• A big want is to spring for an actual desktop. I've had PCs in the past but they were not what I needed, graphically, and there's some stuff I would love to be able to pull off.
  

I feel like that's a pretty reasonable list. And I'm not gonna beat myself up if I don't manage parts of it. That would defeat the whole purpose of not calling them resolutions.

Anybody else got any not-resolutions-but-stuff-you'd-like-to-accomplish?
